Make a Google Forms Quiz with AI (Answer Key and Points)
Short answer
Ask ChatGPT or Claude for the questions with the correct answers marked, then create the quiz with SurveysAI: put [correct] after each correct option and points= after the question type. The form is created as a self-grading Google Forms quiz with the answer key and points filled in. Step by step
- Ask for the questions. Ask ChatGPT or Claude for the quiz with the correct answers marked. The prompt below asks for the SurveysAI format directly.
- Check the answer key. Read every question and every option marked [correct]. AI states wrong answers as confidently as right ones.
- Create the quiz. Paste the text on the SurveysAI homepage, click Check & Preview, sign in with Google and click Generate Form. With the SurveysAI connector in Claude or ChatGPT, the assistant can create it for you instead.
- Review the quiz settings. In Google Forms, open Settings and check when grades are released and what respondents see after submitting.
- Take the quiz once. Submit a test response and check that the score matches the answer key.

What can be graded automatically
- Multiple choice, checkboxes and dropdowns: answer key and points, as above.
- Short answers: add the expected answer after the type, for example
What is 2 + 2? [text] correct="4". Google Forms compares responses with it, so keep these answers short: a number or one word. - Paragraphs, scales, dates, ratings and grids: SurveysAI doesn't set an answer key for these. Grade long answers yourself in the Responses tab.
Before you share the quiz
- Grade release: in Google Forms, open Settings and choose whether students see their score immediately or after you review the answers.
- What students see: in the same settings, choose whether they see missed questions, correct answers and point values.
- A test run: submit the quiz once yourself and check that the score matches your answer key.
What about Gemini?
Since July 2026, Gemini's Help me create in Google Forms can generate quizzes with correct answers and use files from your Google Drive as sources, on eligible paid Google plans (Google's announcement). Can ChatGPT make a Google Forms quiz?
It can write the questions and the answer key. To turn them into a real quiz in Google Forms, connect the SurveysAI app or paste the text into the SurveysAI website.
Does SurveysAI set the answer key and points?
Yes, for multiple-choice, checkbox and dropdown questions: options marked [correct] become the answer key and points= sets the points. A form with any graded question is created as a quiz.
Can it grade paragraph answers?
No. SurveysAI sets answer keys only for choice questions and short answers. Grade long answers yourself in the Responses tab of Google Forms.
Can I make a quiz for free?
On the free SurveysAI plan, each form can have up to 10 items (questions, sections, text blocks, images and videos all count). The Pro plan has no limit.
How is this different from Gemini in Google Forms?
